Longest Football Match in the History of Football

Dubai to host a non-stop football match over 36 hours to commemorate UAE’s 43rd National Day celebrations.

Dubai has come up with yet another first by organizing the longest football match in the history of football. The Dubai Sports Council (DSC) has teamed up with Mondial Company to organize the event as part of the activities held in Dubai and the United Arab Emirates for the National Day celebrations.

The match will take place at the Dubai Police Officers Club. It will kick-off at 9:00 am on 28 November 2014, and the final whistle will be blown at 9:00 pm on 29 November, 2014.

This unique venture will bring together 1,620 players from across the UAE, including former national team stars, junior players from clubs, players representing various nationalities living in the country along with a representative side of juniors from Saudi Arabia’s Al Etifaq Club led by its president, Abdul Aziz Al Dossary..

Once it is over, it should make it to the Guinness World Records as the longest football match in history.

لا أعرف مِن رياض قبيسي سوى إسمه الذي يتردد على مسمعي عند محاولاتي المتكررة لمتابعة القنوات التلفزيونية اللبنانية. و لم “أغوغل” انتماءاته الرياضية ربما لأنني لا أعرفه. و لكن استوقفني ما كتبه عن برشلونة و ميسي٠

اللوم يقع على إحدى المعارف “الفيسبوكية” التي و بتفاعلها مع ما كتب تسببت بإظهار كلماته على حسابي. و هو ليس لوماً بمعنى سلبي بل لوم إيجابي لأنه تسبب باستفزازي كروياً (أما لغويا، فكتاباتي باللغة العربية ليست أحسن ما أملك)٠

 لقد أوردت اسم ريكارد مع كوكبة النجوم الذين ذكرتهم، و هو لم يكن يوما بلاعب في الفريق. و إن قصدته مدربا فلربما كان من الأفضل فصله عنهم بسبب اختلاف الفترات الزمنية٠

 لويس انريكي اللاعب حقق نجاحات مع برشلونة (بغض النظر عن رأيي فيه كلاعب متواضع الإمكانيات) أكثر مما حقق مع ريال مدريد و معظمها في أولى سنواته مع الفريق. فكيف كان فألاً سيئاً؟

 لو كانت الجماهير هي سبب متابعتك لبرشلونة لم تكن لتذكر ما ذكرت من أسماء. فكيف لك بتطليق فريق بسبب بعض النفوس الضعيفة؟

 من يجحد بتشافي لا يفقه من الكرة شكلها فكيف تعطي لرأيه قيمة؟

 من أدخل برشلونة في النفق المظلم وهرطق في برشلونة في تلك الحقبة، هو نفسه من يحاول ترميم مانشستر يونايتد، و ليس انريكي من يلام على ذلك٠

 بعد فشل انريكي في روما كان تعيينه مع برشلونة خطأ حتى هذه اللحظة، و فتى الكنتاكي لا يتحمل وحده مسؤولية حالة الفريق المتهلهلة٠

Some days ago, the world went crazy after seeing Maradona’s alleged attempt to hit his girlfriend (wife, ex-fiance, love, etc.) Rocio Oliva.

The relation between Diego and what’s her face has just taken another U-turn when they attended a product launch in Dubai. She was sitting next to him (that’s her in the photo, right?), when Maradona decided to start singing for her. [VIDEO HERE]

For the records, the incident answers most of the questions I had here, and for the records too, Maradona and Rocio Oliva have broken up and reunited several times during the course of their relationship, and the couple were even engaged for a short time before breaking it off.

التقيؤ المستمر، التراخي في المجهودات، عدم المبالاة، و الإختفاء في أهم اللحظات الحاسمة هي فقط ما نراه من قمة جبل الجليد المختبئ تحت محيط من الألغاز و الأحزان٠

و إذا ما صحّت الإشاعات التي تقول بأن ميسي قرر المشاركة في آخر كلاسيكو رغم الإصابة و بأنه لم يخبر مدرب الفريق عنها خوفاً من عدم المشاركة، فإن ذلك يعتبر خيانة و أشدّ من القتل٠

 

أوّلاُ، اللعب تحت تأثير الإصابة مخاطرة كبيرة قد تنتهي باعتزال قسري و إصابة جماهير الكرة في مقتل٠

ثانياً، عدم إبلاغ المدرب يدرج في خانة التهوّر الأعمى و التكبّر على هيكلية مقدّسة٠

ثالثاً، كل من شارك في إخفاء الحقيقة يعتبر خائناً، سواء كان طبيباً أو معالجاً أو شاهداُ أو لاعباً٠

رابعاً، التضحية بالنفس على حساب عدم الجهوزية و عدم إعطاء الفرصة للاعب آخر في المشاركة، هي خيانة لمصلحة النادي، أيضاً٠

 

لا ينكر المحب أو الكاره لليونيل ميسي إعجازه الكروي و إنجازاته و مساهماته في النادي و لكن لا يحق لميسي أن يتلاعب بالقدر أو بمشاعر المتابعين٠

و بما أن محاسبة ميسي هي ضرب من الخيال، فإن لويس انريكي أمام خيارات أسهلها يؤدّي إلى كسر هيبته. فبعد المشهدية المسرحية (قبل لقاء الكلاسيكو) بين انريكي و ميسي، عند رفض الأخير القيام بالتبديل، تساءلت الملايين عن هوية الشخص المسؤول عن تسيير أمور النادي. و اليوم، يطالعنا انريكي بجملة شعريّة مفادها “الأمور الطبية تخص اللاعبين والطاقم الطبي. أعلم فقط مدى جاهزية اللاعب”. فلا هو بصدد المحاسبة و لا القيادة و لا الاستعلام عن مصداقية الطاقم الطبي أو غيره٠

و القادم أعظم… و حمى الله كل اللاعبين من الإصابات و من التعنّت و من التهوّر٠٠٠

A Drunken Maradona Is Still A Maradona

A video went viral online showing Diego Maradona, sort of drunk, at home, attempting an attack on his fiance Rocio Oliva.

Regardless of the incident and why it happened and how it ended, here are the main talking points:

1. Who shot the video? And why?
2. Who leaked the video? And why?
3. Will it end the relation between the couple?
4. Will it affect Maradona’s next professional step? (like, really?)
5. Will Maradona chase the responsible parties?

Whatever Maradona does, he will always be a Maradona. He has done worse and better stuff, and he will never change.

I am only curious to know if he will be back any time soon to the United Arab Emirates and specifically Dubai, to assume any role, or continue his current one as Dubai’s Sports Ambassador, and whether he will take part in shooting Season 2 of The Victorious.

If you have been following the World Cup in Brasil 2014, you surely couldn’t miss the one song that is repeated and heard everywhere by everyone.

The song is titled: Brasil Decime Que Se Siente.

 

It is set to the tune of “Bad Moon Rising” by Creedence Clearwater Revival — and predicts not just triumph for Argentina, but deep humiliation for Brazil. And the players themselves have joined the choir [Check this video from the locker room of Argentina after the win over Belgium >>> HERE].

The same song and tune have been around for some years, but the lyrics are altered to fit the occasion of the World Cup – Brazil 2014. The words focus on Argentina’s celebration on Brazilian ground, with reference to four main things: 1- Brazilian humiliation at home by Argentinians 2- The goal that Claudio Cannigia scored in the World Cup – Italy 1990, against Brazil [check HERE] 3- Messi winning the World Cup in Brazil 4- Maradona is greater than Pele.

Brazil 2014: World Cup of Lies and Propaganda

Hold on! This is not about people finally discovering that Balotelli is overrated and overrated.

Brazil 2014 has by far been the best tournament since 1998 (or at least that’s what I think). However, and before it kicked off, there have been many incidents off the field that portrayed a different image about a football mad country. To name a few, there are the protests, the prostitution, the robberies, and other stuff.

I wouldn’t care about any of the above as long as we can focus on football itself. Yet, the yellow tabloids and media world showed hunger for stories that do not exist and created a lot of propaganda about the footballing aspects in this tournaments.

The amount of lies and fake news during this World Cup has exceeded my expectations and showed that social media is run and fueled by the slightest rumor. I am picking up 3 stories to highlight as fake, and you can either believe them or me or whoever wrote them.

• NO! Mexico’s Goalkeeper does NOT have 6 fingers: After his heroic displays against Brazil, Mexican goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa was hailed as a hero in his country and around the world. His miraculous saves were compared to those of legends and the search after the secret of his super powers ended up with the claim that he has six fingers.
• Messi is not perfect and he did NOT meet the boy mascot: Well, Messi may not be human in football terms, but he is a human being who is allowed to miss out on shaking the hand of a young boy before a football game. Stories about Messi meeting the boy later on – and which were circulating to add to the image of holiness upon Messi – are only fake.
• Cristiano Ronaldo loves his hair but did NOT shave it in solidarity with a dying kid: The zig-zag in Ronaldo’s hair was said to be in tribute to a young fan, Erik Ortiz Cruz, who had a brain surgery. The mother of the kid denied that. End of story.

All the above may look stupid stories and not worth following, but social media, and sick media are full with similar ones.
